Called an "activist with an Instagram account," Bobby LaPin leverages his platform of over one million monthly views to drive civic action. Recently, he used his influence to help pause a half-billion-dollar BGE luxury project in South Baltimore, advocate against unregulated data center expansion, and push for the passage of the Community Trust Act to protect our neighbors from ICE.
Bobby fights corporate greed and authoritarianism by organizing protests, petition drives, and town halls to empower local residents. He served as Safety Coordinator for the Southwest Partnership and led the successful 2014 campaign against CSX pollution in the underserved neighborhoods in Southwest Baltimore.
Bobby was born in South Baltimore. He and his wife Alicia own Boat Baltimore, a sailing charter promoting the city. Bobby worked as a Federal Consultant investigating fraud and conducting background investigations. As an Incident Management Officer for the National Operations Center, Bobby helped coordinate the U.S. response to the Fukushima nuclear disaster. In Iraq, he collaborated with citizens to rebuild critical public works infrastructure. Bobby taught government in Baltimore, recognized as an Outstanding Teacher by the Reginald F. Lewis Foundation. He served in the U.S. Army, and while stationed in Korea co-founded Full of Hope, providing after-school tutoring to orphans. He began his service as a volunteer firefighter, earning the Meritorious Service Award.

Bobby believes we need leaders who listen, who show up, and who put people over profits. Leaders who actually knock on doors, walk these blocks, and understand the challenges working families face every single day.
To Bobby, healthcare is a right, not a privilege. People deserve housing they can actually afford. Every child deserves a school with clean water, safe buildings, and a fair shot - no matter their neighborhood.
Bobby will work to lower energy costs for families and fight the unregulated expansion of data centers that raise bills and strain our grid. Bobby will fight corporations who dump millions into politicians.
And when a president who wants to be a king threatens our home, Bobby will continue to stand up and fight with everything he has - just like he always has.
Working people deserve more. Bobby knows that firsthand - because he is one of us.
The machine may have money and influence. But working people have something stronger: each other. And together, we can take back our voice.
This isn’t just a campaign. This is an opportunity to lift Baltimore higher - to bring courage, compassion, and community back into the work of governing.
Baltimore deserves a voice that cannot be bought, silenced, or ignored. So let’s get started. READ THE PLAN --->
